Becoming a Member
To become a member of our association, individuals applying for membership must be at least thirteen years of age. We offer and welcome membership to young individuals, as well as all male and female individuals who have a keen interest in football refereeing.
Prior to membership, it is necessary for individuals to have completed the Grade 5 Football Federation Australia Referee Induction Course. This course covers all basic aspects of football refereeing and is a mandatory requirement before progressing to the Grade 4 practical course.
Prior to being appointed to fixtures, candidates will have to satisfactorily complete the Grade 4 practical course, which provides examination of the practical aspects of refereeing. Additionally, each candidate will be inspected on two centres (as a referee) and one line (as an assistant referee.)
Generally, the content of both the Grade 5 and Grade 4 course can be completed comfortable in five short two to three hours sessions. Although these sessions are intensive, we believe that the short duration of each session maximises both learning and personal development outcomes. |
